Description
A short skunk with a camerabag, Coriolis Lana Anders (as the tag on the bag reads) is an exercise in punctuated equilibrium. Brief flurries of motion - arms and tail a perfect echo of her thoughts - are interrupted by perfect, tripod stillness. Then -flash-, click, whirr, and she's moving again, another moment frozen in negative on film.
Cory can't be far past her mid-teens, a fact made obvious in her smile - the unmitigated joy of living is still fresh, her eyes lacking the accumulation of grief that comes with experience. Everything is open to be explored and documented, photographed and filed in her scrapbooks, corkboards, and frames. The viewfinder is the measure of all things, parceling reality out 35 millimeters at a time, monochrome, click by shutter-click.
She's dressed simply today - a light blue t-shirt and blue denim jeans, both snug-fitting, offering freedom of movement, and her heavy, overstuffed camerabag dangling off of one shoulder. A tripod, collapsed, pokes out of one corner of the bag, and her light meter is stuck in easy reach at the outside pocket. And, of course, her camera - a bulky, old SLR manual with no extraneous features - dangling on a neck strap. Her hair is down, and she brushes it out of her eyes when it gets between her and the camera, hanging down well past her shoulders to form patterns against her shirt. Her tail bounces, flicking up occasionally, rippling her hair with its breeze. On her finger, Cori wears a simple silver band, worked into a mobius strip.
